Our mommies deliver their babies in human playpens with
shredded end roll paper from the newspaper place (has no
printing or ink on it) first I put down 6 ply folded paper
from the rolls then we have a industrial shredder that we
shred end rolls to make shreds to place on top... the pups
potty and it sticks in the paper, easy clean up and the pups
stay clean.. when they reach 4 week old and start walking we
place a dish pan that has one side cut down into one end of
the play pen and place shredded paper in it, they use it for a
potty place and play in the rest of the playpen...
We have a nursery room with playpens and both my computer,
hubbys computer, a heater, air conditioner and tv that's
located in the center of the house basically... We like to
spend time with our puppies and I spend most of my day in this
room. Hubby spends lots of time on the floor covered in
puppies, hehehe...He loves to get down in the floor with them
and they look forward to it each day. Our puppies are used to
love and attention and are used to hearing phones, tv's, and
normal daily living..
We also have a room just for the adult fur kids complete
with beds, crates (yes sometimes you need to separate a male
when a certain female is in heat) grooming table, medicine
cart, linen cabinet, food storage area (large totes),
windows for fresh air on nice days, air conditioner, heater,
industrial sink for bathing dogs and a door leading out to a
concreted area that is chain link fenced which leads into 2
other large grassed chain link fenced areas. The outside areas
have water and food bowls that are cleaned daily and fresh
water and food placed in them for when they are outside. We
keep our males and females separate outside. NO guessing
here about who the daddy is... we control each breeding by
hand breeding each pair.
Each day our adults & babies are held, loved and played
with.. each day they get fresh air and sunshine as well as
down time in a cool comfy room of their own.. there are toys
strewn in both places as well as all over the house because
each adult is house broke and they take turns staying in the
main part of the house with us..
We have gates up all through the house at almost each
doorway but who cares.. this is our life and we love our
dogs.. We groom every weekend, puppies are bathed once a week
and adults usually average out to every 3 weeks rotated.
We give our own shots, do our own dew claws and do most
everything under the guidance of our vets except c-sections
which we have only 1 in last 8 yrs.. Our vets are a wonderful
husband & wife team and they are awesome. They help us in
every way
